What happens at the consultation?
We will listen to your concerns and goals about what you wish to achieve with your cosmetic procedure.  We will then evaluate you by performing a physical exam and obtaining your medical history including medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments and prior surgeries as well as current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco, and drug use.  Based on our evaluation, we will discuss the best options for you that would help you to achieve your goals.  We will recommend a course of treatment and discuss likely outcomes of the surgery and any risks or potential complications.
You will also be able to meet with our cosmetic care coordinator who will give you a quote on the pricing for the procedures that are discussed.
You can expect the consultation to last at least 30 minutes or longer, depending on how many different surgical options interest you. Our goal during the consultation is to give you all the tools you need to make a decision on whether plastic surgery is right for you.

Plastic FAQs: How Long Does It Take to Recover from a Facelift?

FAQ FaceliftQuestion: How long does it take to recover from a facelift?

Dr. Virginia Huang: The short answer is that it takes 10-14 days to recover to the point where you can go out in public.  The bruising and swelling usually peaks by day 3 or 4 after surgery. By a week after surgery, the bruising is 60% resolved and by 10-14 days, 80% of the bruising has resolved to the point where you can go out with cover-up makeup. You may resume light activity at 10-14 days after surgery and unrestricted activity 4 weeks after surgery.
